Prayer flow was born from a deep concern about privacy violations in religious apps. In 2020, reports revealed that one of the most popular Muslim apps was selling precise location data to data brokers, which was then used by military contractors. This fundamental breach of trust inspired us to build something different.

We believe that your religious practice is deeply personal and should remain private. Your prayer times, spiritual habits, and daily tasks are not data points to be monetized or analyzed. They belong to you alone.

This is why we designed Prayer flow with these core privacy principles:

• Your data stays on your device - We don't collect or store your personal data on our servers
• Local processing only - All calculations (prayer times, Qibla, etc.) happen on your device
• No mandatory accounts - Use the app without creating an account or providing personal information
• No unnecessary permissions - We only request the permissions absolutely needed for functionality
• Transparency - Our code is open source so anyone can verify our privacy claims

Information We DO NOT Collect

Prayer flow does not collect or store the following information:

• Your name, email, or personal identifiers
• Your location data
• Your prayer times or habits
• Your task lists or productivity data
• Your device information
• Usage statistics or behavior patterns

Information You Generate in the App

All information generated while using Prayer flow (prayer tracking, tasks, notes, and analytics) is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this information and cannot read, modify, or delete it.

Optional Cloud Backup (Premium Only)

Premium users have the option to enable encrypted cloud backup. If you choose to enable this feature:

• Your data is encrypted on your device before being sent to our servers
• We cannot access the unencrypted content of your backups
• You control the encryption key, not us
• You can delete your backup data at any time
• This feature is completely optional

App Permissions

Our app requests the following permissions, which are used only for the specified purposes:

• Location - Used only for calculating prayer times based on your location. This data never leaves your device.
• Notifications - Used to send prayer time alerts and task reminders.
• Storage - Used to save your tasks, prayer logs, and other app data on your device.

Anonymous Usage Statistics (Opt-in)

You may optionally choose to share anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the app. If you enable this feature, we collect only anonymous information such as:

• Which features are most used (no personal data included)
• App performance metrics
• Crash reports

This feature is disabled by default and must be explicitly enabled by you. You can disable it at any time in the app settings.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices, we will update this policy and notify you through the app. We will never reduce your privacy rights without your explicit consent.

We believe monetization should align with Islamic values and ethical principles. Here's how we approach funding our app development while maintaining our values:

No Ads or Data Selling

We don't show advertisements in our app, even in the free version. We will never sell your data or attention to advertisers. Your privacy and peace of mind are more important to us than ad revenue.

Transparent Pricing

Our premium subscription is priced fairly and transparently. We clearly communicate what features are available in the free version versus the premium version, with no hidden costs or surprise charges.

Halal Income

We ensure all our revenue comes from halal sources. We don't charge interest, engage in gambling-like mechanics, or use deceptive practices to increase revenue.

Charity Contribution

We donate 10% of our premium subscription revenue to Islamic charities focused on education and humanitarian relief. We publish quarterly reports on our donations for complete transparency.

Sustainable Business Model

We believe in building a sustainable business that can continue to serve the Muslim community for years to come. Our primary goal is to create value for our users, not to maximize profit at all costs.
